Belarus’ FM points to crisis in system of international relations

MOSCOW, 10 June (BelTA) — Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov touched upon the crisis in the system of international relations as he spoke with students at MGIMO University in Moscow on 10 June, BelTA has learned.

“I won't reveal any secret to say that our world is changing rapidly. You can see it for yourselves. You see how it is entering the zone of turbulence, uncertainty, how the mechanisms of checks and balances stop working. The system of stability and security, which was established for decades after World War II, is actually losing its strength. You see how much tension is growing in the world. It is caused by the fact that many politicians, diplomats, and some countries do not understand what is happening and what should be done,” Maksim Ryzhenkov said.

In his words, back in the time Belarus agreed to follow the WTO rules. However, now illegitimate sanctions have been imposed against Belarus by Western countries in violation of all UN and WTO norms. “Where can we appeal today in terms of economic relations? There is nowhere to complain,” the minister stressed.

He stated that under these conditions, the countries of the world majority initiated the development of new fair mechanisms. That is why, the SCO, BRICS, and EAEU have been set up, he added.
