MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) - The Slavonic peoples should stay together, even if the position of people and the authorities regarding the policies of the neighboring state diverge, Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in the fourth episode of the documentaries titled as Belarus Against Color Revolution aired by the Belarusian TV channel STV, BelTA has learned.
“We view the Ukrainian people as our fraternal and allied nation. We believe that all of us, the Slavs, should stay together. We have to distinguish between the position of the people and the position of the authorities. Ukraine has now joined the Western choir actively opposing Belarus, but this does not mean that it is the opinion of all the people. Moreover, there are a number of sensible people in this choir of politicians who urge the authorities of Ukraine to change their minds and pursue a more reasonable, sensible policy towards Belarus,” said Vladimir Makei.
It became known that in addition to the U.S. security services representatives of Ukraine were involved in the destabilization of the situation in Belarus. The film showed the so-called group of Nikolai Avtukhovich, who carried out explosions and arson, destroying the property of the law enforcement agencies. The group's arsenal was impressive: a Kalashnikov assault rifle, guns, 1,500 bullets, grenades, radios and containers of flammable liquid were found in a garage. The group was supervised by Ukraine.
According to KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel, such behavior on the part of Ukrainian special services does not correspond to the level of relations between the fraternal nations. “We have reliable information about the involvement of the Ukrainian secret services in Avtukhovich's project. Of course, they had their own goals. Avtukhovich, like any person, had his personal goals and ambitions. Based on international agreements, we have prepared and sent to the Ukrainian competent authorities the materials, indicating the involvement of their security services: phone numbers, talks, some other things. The Ukrainian side has not yet responded to these requests,” he stressed.
