Belarus FM meets with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet during his visit to Switzerland, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As BelTA reported earlier, Vladimir Makei is on a working visit to Switzerland on 19-20 April in order to take part in the 69th session of the UN Economic Commission for Europe. The program of the first day of the visit envisages meetings of the Belarusian minister with Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Daren Tang, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer.

“The focus of attention will be on topical issues of the international agenda in the areas of counterparts' activities, Belarus' approach to the problems within the area of responsibility of each of the mentioned organizations, as well as other themes of mutual interest,” the ministry said.
