Belarus, Finland to expand cooperation in forestry machinery production

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Finland are discussing further expansion of cooperation between Amkodor and Finnish partners in joint production of forestry machinery, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Finland.

These matters among others were talked over by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Finland Aleksei Samosuyev during his visit to Joensuu. “During the visit Aleksei Samosuyev held talks with CEO of KESLA Simo Saastamoinen on further expansion of cooperation with Amkodor in joint production of special-purpose forestry machinery,” the embassy said.

Prospects for systemic Belarus-Finland contacts in forest inventory were considered at the meeting with representatives of the research center Arbonaut.

Aleksei Samosuyev also got familiar with the activity of the Karelia University of Applied Sciences. Possible areas of Belarus-Finland cooperation were talked over at the meeting with President of the university Petri Raivo and its teaching staff. The parties also discussed the training of Belarusian specialists under the programs of the school of forest sciences.

The diplomat also visited the Sirkkala Energy Park (that specializes in improving the production of fuel wood), and the Simula pedagogical center.
