Belarus' embassy opens in Sweden

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – An official ceremony to open the Belarusian embassy in Sweden took place in Stockholm on 15 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Attending the event was Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko and State Secretary to the Minister for EU Affairs and Trade of Sweden Oscar Stenstrom.

The Belarusian-Swedish ministerial consultations were held on the same day. The Swedish delegation was led by Annika Soder, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of the bilateral and multilateral agenda, including the prospects of developing cooperation with Sweden in the political, trade and economic sectors, the strengthening of the dialogue between Belarus and the EU, and the preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit which is due in Brussels on 24 November.

During the visit Oleg Kravchenko met with Director General of the Permanent International Secretariat of the Council of the Baltic Sea States Maira Mora.
