MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with outgoing Ambassador of Egypt to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Ihab Nasr, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
"The parties discussed the cooperation between Belarus and Egypt and reviewed the status of contacts in various fields," the press service said.
The diplomats touched on political dialogue, mutual support in international organizations, trade and economic cooperation, including joint projects in industry and agriculture.
"The parties spoke highly of the results of the ministerial consultations held in Cairo in September, and reviewed the preparations for a meeting of the joint trade intergovernmental commission due in Cairo in November. The high dynamics of relations between the two countries in tourism and education was emphasized," the ministry said.
Vladimir Makei presented the ambassador of Egypt with the Partnership badge of merit of the Belarusian diplomatic service in recognition of his contribution to the Belarusian-Egyptian political, trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, active participation in the organization of visits at high and highest levels, and assistance in the implementation of Belarusian-Egyptian projects.
