Belarus’ diplomat joins Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development in Bangkok

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Vladimir Borovikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam and a permanent observer at the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), took part online in the opening of the Eleventh Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development that is running in Bangkok on 20-23 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vietnam.
 
The event is attended by representatives of governments and parliaments of ESCAP participating and observer countries, international organizations, and the diplomatic corps. The participants of the forum review progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the regional level.
 
The participants of the forum share experience and best practices of their states in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and put forward proposals for intensifying and increasing the effectiveness of regional and international cooperation in this area.
 
The outcomes of the forum will feed into the 2024 High-level Political Forum to be held in New York on 8-12 July 2024 under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council.
