MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong on 30 June, BelTA has learned.
The parties hailed the successful development of the Belarusian-Chinese relations under the guidance and thanks to personal involvement of the two heads of state. They also praised increasing bilateral trade, closer humanitarian ties, and effective use of the interregional cooperation potential.
Igor Sergeyenko and Xie Xiaoyong also reaffirmed the readiness of Belarus and China to continue cooperating in COVID-19 response and supporting each other in the international arena, primarily in fighting unilateral restrictive measures targeting sovereign states.
Igor Sergeyenko thanked the Chinese authorities for their firm stance in defending the sovereignty and independence of Belarus.
Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong stressed Belarus' progress in stabilizing the social and political situation in the country, including thanks to holding the 6th All-Belarusian People's Congress and discussions about the constitutional reform.
The parties also exchanged greetings on the occasion of the upcoming holidays: the centennial anniversary of the Communist Party of China and Belarus' Independence Day.
