MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) - Belarus and China have common points of contact and pursue similar development strategies, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus Aleksei Sokol said as he met with Chen Zhou, Deputy Head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, on 20 April, BelTA has learned.
“Today the camp of countries that are focused on social development is being replenished. We are glad that this camp, or, more correctly, the team, is headed by the great China,” Aleksei Sokol said. “The concept that the People's Republic of China is building is very similar to the concept of the Republic of Belarus in all areas. Therefore, we have a lot to discuss. We have common points of contact and pursue similar development strategies at the governmental and party levels.”
The parties discussed interaction between the political parties, promising areas of interstate cooperation, peace initiatives of Belarus and China in the international arena.
Aleksei Sokol added that the countries were compiling a cooperation plan until 2030. He emphasized the relevance of this work, noting the complicated geopolitical situation in the world, which, in his opinion, was only getting worse.
“The future of the whole world depends on how timely we will take joint deterrence measures,” the leader of the Belarusian communists.
According to the politician, Belarus and China are successfully developing cooperation within the framework of the Chinese concept of the Community of the Common Destiny for Mankind. It implies the creation of peaceful cooperation between the countries in all areas of development for the benefit of the peoples. “It is easy to destroy the relations that have been built over the years. It will take a long time to rebuild them,” Aleksei Sokol said.
The deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee said that the purpose of his working visit to Belarus was to deepen inter-party ties and cooperation between the countries for the comprehensive development of China-Belarus relations.
According to Chen Zhou, the partnership between the countries is dynamically developing and constantly strengthening thanks to the personal assistance of the leaders of Belarus and China.
