Belarus, China drafting cooperation plan until 2030

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleinik has received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong to discuss bilateral cooperation, including upcoming contacts at the high and highest levels, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The diplomats reviewed progress to draft the Belarus-China cooperation plan until 2030 and efforts to promote promising cooperation projects. In this regard, the holding of the Year of Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation was also discussed.

The work in international organizations was another topic on the agenda of the meeting. Taking into account that Belarus will soon join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as a full member, the parties reaffirmed commitment to close cooperation in the SCO, as well as readiness to help Belarus on its journey towards BRICS.

The parties pointed to the strategic nature of the partnership between the two countries and confirmed their readiness to continue to support each other in issues representing fundamental interests of both states.
