MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – The ministries of foreign affairs of Belarus and China have held online consultations. The Belarusian delegation was led by Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas and the Chinese delegation – by China Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Yucheng, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The parties discussed a wide range of matters of bilateral cooperation, including the state of affairs in the political dialogue between Belarus and China in view of the difficult epidemiological situation in the world and prospects for exchanging visits at the high and highest level,” the press service said.
The online consultations focused on advancing the bilateral investment, trade and economic cooperation, including increasing Belarus' export of agricultural and food products to China, development of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, and implementation of joint investment projects in various fields.
Andrei Dapkiunas and Le Yucheng had an in-depth discussion about the development of interregional relations and humanitarian cooperation, including the initiative to declare the Year of Regions of Belarus and China. They pledged further mutual support in international affairs and international organizations, such as the UN, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, and the Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries 17+1.
