Belarus’ CEC observes 2025 general election in Philippines

MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) - Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Aleksei Bashan and CEC member Aleksandr Tkachev arrived in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on 10 May, where they will carry out international observation of the 2025 general election, BelTA learned from Belarus’ CEC.

On 12 May, the people of Philippines will elect members for all 317 seats in the Philippine House of Representatives and 12 of 24 seats in the Philippine Senate. The elected candidates will form the 20th Congress of the Philippines. Local elections for the executive and legislative branches of government in every province, city and municipality in the country will be held on the same day.

Upon arrival in Manila, Aleksei Bashan and Aleksandr Tkachev visited the command center of the Philippine National Police, where they learned about the security measures applied by the local police during the elections in the country, and also the Philippine Development Committee.
