Belarus, Azerbaijan discuss cooperation, support in international organizations

MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, the parties reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the plans for future meetings and joint events, including in the field of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan.

Vladimir Makei thanked his counterpart for Azerbaijan's allied, principled position at the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels. "Azerbaijan has demonstrated a responsible approach of a sovereign state, corresponding to the spirit of the strategic Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations," the ministry stressed.

The parties also agreed to continue promoting cooperation and providing further mutual support at international venues.
