MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) - Cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan is a strategic partnership, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said as she met with the leadership of youth associations of Azerbaijan on 18 June, BelTA has learned.
“For us, Azerbaijan is a friendly country, a kin nation. We share historical roots, the events that our countries have gone through together. We have similar positions in spiritual and moral education. We are especially pleased to note that our interstate relations are a strategic partnership. Of course, this is largely thanks to the wise policy that our leaders are pursuing. They do everything to ensure that our relations develop and multiply, that they are mutually beneficial, and that our peoples remain friends for many years,” Natalya Kochanova said.

According to the speaker, friendly relations have also developed between parliamentarians of the two countries. “In my opinion, we have even reached a new level of cooperation. This is very important for us, since MPs are currently assigned a very serious role. We must stay united in order to defend the sovereignty and independence of our countries, to defend peace. The policy that is being carried out in our countries is aimed primarily at this,” the chairperson of the Council of the Republic said.

“Cooperation through youth organizations is very important for us. We understand perfectly well that our countries will be what our young people are like. The youth will take up this baton and will further develop our relations,” Natalya Kochanova said.
