MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Azerbaijan are developing strategic cooperation, including in international organizations, Belarusian Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said during the talks with Prime Minister Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan in Minsk on 3 October, BelTA learned.
"I warmly welcome you to Belarus. We have long agreed on your visit and we really appreciate that you have found the time in your busy schedule. This is the first official visit of the prime minister of Azerbaijan in the history of our relations. You have also brought a representative delegation. This indicates Azerbaijan's commitment to developing cooperation with our country. We have the same attitude. The tone to the relations is set by the leaders of our countries. Their time-tested sincere friendship places a special responsibility on us for fulfilling the tasks that they set for us. Without exaggeration, cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan is strategic both on a bilateral track and in international arena," Roman Golovchenko said.
The state visit of the Belarusian president to Azerbaijan gave a new impetus to cooperation between Minsk and Baku, Roman Golovchenko added.
