Belarus attends SCO Political Parties Forum in China

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) - Belarus’ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China Aleksandr Chervyakov visited Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China on 23-24 April to take part in the SCO Political Parties Forum organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the leadership of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in China.

The event was aimed at strengthening political dialogue, deepening international cooperation and mutual understanding of the SCO countries. On the sidelines of the forum, Aleksandr Chervyakov took part in a high-level meeting to discuss the interaction between the countries through political parties, their role and importance in strengthening the dialogue.

The ambassador also gave an interview for a number of media resources, in which he noted that the SCO Political Parties Forum was an excellent opportunity to discuss the issues of joint promotion of economic globalization and strengthening of cultural exchange for the benefit of further modernization of the countries of the organization and joint building of the SCO community of common destiny.

The Belarusian delegation held working meetings with Ma Xingui, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of XUAR, and Liu Jianchao, Head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The forum featured more than 200 delegates from 20 countries. Belarus was represented by the Belaya Rus Party, the Communist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, and the Republican Party of Labor and Justice.
