MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to India with concurrent
accreditation to Sri Lanka Mikhail Kasko presented his credentials to
the president of Sri Lanka, BelTA learned from the press service of the
Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka emphasized the friendly nature of relations between the two countries. The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission drew attention to the significant potential for building up cooperation in various areas, including in trade, education, science, tourism, culture, as well as on topical issues of the international agenda.
Prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Sri Lanka were discussed in more detail during Mikhail Kasko’s meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Vijitha Herath. “The parties constructively discussed the prospects of cooperation, as well as concrete steps for its further deepening,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
