MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Indonesia Roman Romanovsky has presented credentials to Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Kao Kim Hourn, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the prospects of intensifying interaction between the Republic of Belarus and ASEAN in the areas of mutual interest. The parties emphasized the importance of exploring opportunities to expand cooperation and increase mutual trade, investment, and tourism. The secretary general noted ASEAN's interest in developing contacts with Belarus in areas where Belarus has experience and expertise.
The ambassador emphasized Belarus' openness to cooperation in such areas as industry and food security, science and education. He reaffirmed Belarus’ commitment to expand trade, economic, inter-parliamentary, and humanitarian ties with ASEAN and its member states.
