Belarus’ ambassador in Myanmar on visit

MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - Vladimir Borovikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, is on a working visit to Myanmar on 25-29 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vietnam.

On 26 December, Vladimir Borovikov participated in a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Aleksei Bashan and Chairman of the Union Election Commission of Myanmar Than Soe. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the electoral sector and outlined plans for joint events in 2026.

That same day, a substantive exchange of views on the prospects for developing bilateral relations took place with Khin Yi, Chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, and Khin Hnin Htit, a parliamentary candidate from the People’s Pioneer Party. The discussion focused on intensifying all tools of people’s diplomacy, primarily interparty engagement.

An agreement was reached with Myanmar’s Deputy Police Chief Myo Min Htike to enhance interaction between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies, including the exchange of visits by specialized departments and matters concerning personnel training.
