Belarus' ambassador attends Vietnamese Parliament opening session

MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov took part in the opening of the regular session of the National Assembly of Vietnam of the 15th convocation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vietnam.

The ambassador met with a number of Vietnamese officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps to discuss the development of bilateral relations.

The Belarusian embassy emphasized the importance of developing inter-parliamentary cooperation. The chairpersons of the Belarusian and Vietnamese parliaments exchanged visits in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Inter-parliamentary friendship groups have been set up and are in operation.

During the session of the Vietnamese National Assembly, the MPs are expected to adopt a number of laws in law enforcement, intellectual property protection, insurance, development of the national cinematography. Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of the social and economic development plan and the state budget.
