Bektenov: Belarus and Kazakhstan enjoy a strategic partnership on an upward trajectory

ASTANA, 5 November (BelTA) – The strategic partnership between Belarus and Kazakhstan continues to develop steadily, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said during a narrow-participation meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA has learned.
Warmly recalling his recent meeting with Aleksandr Turchin in Minsk, Olzhas Bektenov expressed his gratitude for the hospitality. “After your appointment, we discussed your official visit to Kazakhstan. Thank you for accepting our invitation, as we have much to discuss,” he said. “Overall, relations between our countries have always been, are, and, I am confident, will remain the warmest and most cordial. They are a strategic partnership and are developing steadily. I am pleased to note that trade turnover has increased significantly this year. The government of Kazakhstan is committed to constructive interaction and the dynamic development of trade and economic relations between our countries,” he said.
In turn, Aleksandr Turchin highlighted the high level of bilateral cooperation. “Despite the distance separating us, Kazakhstan is a vital economic partner for Belarus, second only to Russia in terms of trade turnover among the CIS countries, and these are significant figures. Yesterday’s meeting with the president of Kazakhstan left a profound impression on me and my colleagues. He provided us with detailed information about Kazakhstan’s domestic and foreign policy. We really appreciate the opportunity to meet. I believe that during our discussions today, both in a narrow and expanded format, we will examine areas where we need to improve. And if there are any problematic issues, I believe we will find solutions,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
