
BAKU, 6 May (BelTA) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev named the priority areas of partnership between Belarus and Azerbaijan as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin in Baku on 6 May, BelTA learned.
Ilham Aliyev congratulated Aleksandr Turchin on his appointment as Belarus’ Prime Minister. In his opinion, it is encouraging that the Belarusian head of government is paying an official visit to Azerbaijan soon after assuming office. "Our relations are friendly and brotherly. We are committed to cooperation and achieving positive results," he emphasized.

Azerbaijan’s president pointed out that the bilateral relations between the two countries are built on mutual support and active interaction. "I hope that our trade and economic partnership will be as successful as our political cooperation. We have brought our relations to a high level, and one of our main priorities now is expanding trade and economic ties. We have valuable experience in establishing joint ventures, and I believe this practice should continue," he stated.


Ilham Aliyev highlighted agriculture as a promising area of cooperation. It has been discussed at high-level meetings multiple times. He stressed that military-technical cooperation and many other sectors also have potential for partnership. "We are focused on strengthening our interaction," he told Aleksandr Turchin. "Your visit and participation in various events are important steps in deepening cooperation between our countries."
Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin is currently on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan.
