Asadov: Azerbaijan seeks closer cooperation with Belarus

BAKU, 5 May (BelTA) - Azerbaijan aims to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus, Prime Minister Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan said as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin on 5 May, BelTA has learned.

Ali Asadov congratulated Aleksandr Turchin on his appointment as Prime Minister, emphasizing that the Belarusian colleague came to Azerbaijan for the first time in this role. The prime minister added that the joint meeting was a good opportunity to discuss the tasks set by the presidents of the two countries, as well as to compare notes on the bilateral agenda.

Azerbaijan aims to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus, he emphasized. “Today we had a thorough and constructive one-on-one dialogue on the most important issues that will contribute to our further cooperation. We agreed to increase joint efforts to implement the signed agreements and instructions of the heads of state,” Ali Asadov said.

He added that Belarus and Azerbaijan have accumulated a lot of practical cooperation, which is supported by a very extensive legal framework - more than 170 documents have been signed between the two countries.
