AP: Trump intends to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table on Day 1

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will be able to "negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine", Trump’s national press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News, according to The Associated Press (AP).

“It includes, on Day 1, bringing Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table to end this war,” Karoline Leavitt said. Earlier, Trump repeatedly stated that he could resolve the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in one day.

Karoline Leavitt also noted that Trump will reverse the actions of the Joe Biden administration and will sign dozens of executive actions in the first week after officially taking office. "There will be a reversal of all the executive orders that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris signed to reverse the effective policies of the first Trump administration," TASS quoted the spokesperson for Trump's headquarters as saying.

According to Leavitt, the 94 executive orders that Biden signed in his first week in office led "to a border crisis and the economic crisis."

Speaking last month at his Madison Square Garden rally in New York, Trump said: “On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history.”

President-elect Donald Trump announced Sunday night that Tom Homan, who served as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in his last administration, will be in charge of the nation’s borders. The president-elect added that Homan “will be in charge of all deportation of illegal aliens back to their country of origin.” Donald Trump said he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act. That rarely used 1798 law allows the president to deport anyone who is not an American citizen and is from a country with which there is a “declared war” or a threatened or attempted “invasion or predatory incursion.” He also spoke about deploying the National Guard to deal with the border crisis.

Donald Trump is looking to reverse climate policies aimed at reducing planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions. With an executive order on Day 1, he can roll back environmental protections, halt wind projects, scuttle the Biden administration’s targets that encourage the switch to electric cars and abolish standards for companies to become more environmentally friendly.

He also pledged to increase production of U.S. fossil fuels, promising to “drill, drill, drill,” when he gets into office on Day 1, which he claims would lower energy costs.

Donald Trump's first day in office as U.S. President will be on 20 January 2025, when he is to be inaugurated.

Republican Donald Trump won the election held in the United States on 5 November, beating the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Republicans also managed to win control of the Senate. They can get a majority in the House of Representatives as well, which will strengthen Trump's position at the beginning of his presidential term.
