Andreichenko: Recent elections have showed high trust in Belarusian government

 MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) - The recent parliamentary and local elections in Belarus have demonstrated a strong trust in government among the general public, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the meeting of the tenth session of the House of Representatives of the seventh convocation on 28 February, BelTA has learned.

“On 25 February, the country held its first single voting day to elect the new House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation and local councils of deputies of the twenty-ninth convocation. Their preliminary results have already been summarized, which testify to the high trust in government and support for the policy being implemented,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

International observers, assessing the election campaign, emphasized that it was conducted democratically, openly, in accordance with all norms, standards and legislation of Belarus, the speaker said.

“The election campaign was held in a calm constructive atmosphere. People have shown high civic activity. The turnout across the country made up 73.09%,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.
