MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) – The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is ready to expand cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Belarus Franklin Ramirez Araque told BelTA on the eve of Venezuela’s Independence Day.
“The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is ready to deepen cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, a brotherly nation and our strategic partner, based on shared values of sovereignty protection, multilateral integration, and diplomatic initiatives for global balance,” the diplomat noted.
The ambassador went on saying: “In commemoration of the 214th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which is celebrated on 5 July, the country's government reaffirms its commitment to two fundamental principles: the right of peoples to self-determination and the adherence to international law. These principles were at the heart of the liberation movement of 1811 and today continue to inspire new generations to take collective action for global peace.”
The diplomat noted: “On the occasion of this historic date, President Nicolas Maduro has put forward an initiative to convene a World Summit for Peace, aimed at strengthening the mechanisms of multilateral cooperation in the name of a just and secure future for all.”
