Ambassador: Sudan is an old friend of Belarus in Africa

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) - Sudan is an old friend of Belarus in Africa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan to Belarus Mohammed Omer Musa Ali said during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko in Minsk on 16 November, BelTA has learned.

"I am glad to have the opportunity to meet with you. I was very pleased to participate in the opening of the ninth session of the House of Representatives. It was very pleasant for me to hear a lot of information about the Republic of Belarus. I was very pleased to have a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I felt at home when we started discussing cooperation between our countries. We have prepared roadmaps," Ambassador Mohammed Omer Musa Ali said.

Sudan is an old friend of Belarus in Africa, the ambassador stressed. "We have a lot of neighbors. This gives more opportunities to tap into new markets," he added. “Cooperation between our countries is developing well, but we must not stop. We will start with the intergovernmental commissions that are being set up to implement all the agreements."

During the meeting the parties are set to discuss the development of inter-parliamentary contacts, cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries in international organizations, ways of promoting Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation in trade, economy and humanitarian affairs and also the status of the agreements reached during the visit of Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko to Sudan in 2017.
