
MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Serbia are not just partners, but close nations, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Belarus Ilina Vukajlović said during a meeting with Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic Sergei Aleinik on 23 May, BelTA has learned.
"We are not just partners, but very close nations. Our people feel at home in Belarus," Ambassador Ilina Vukajlović said.
“I would like to once again congratulate the Belarusian people on the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, our common Victory. The celebrations in Belarus were magnificent, and our deputies were truly impressed by your parade and all the events organized during these days,” the ambassador noted.
“Once again, on behalf of Serbia and our people, I express gratitude for the support regarding Kosovo and Metohija, our most pressing issue that influences all other decisions we make. We also deeply appreciate your assistance and understanding during the vote on the resolution concerning the so-called genocide in Srebrenica. We consider this not just a political step, but a genuine show of support and solidarity from Belarus, a country close to us. Any form of support and understanding is extremely valuable to us,” Ambassador Ilina Vukajlović stated.
