Ambassador hopes for more flights between Belarus, India

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Belarus and India will continue expanding mutual air services, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Ashok Kumar told a press conference at the National Press Center to mark the International Yoga Day, BelTA has learned.

“A direct regular flight is operated between the capitals of Belarus and India once a week (it was launched in 2023). The launch of such a flight has helped us bring our countries closer together and enhance economic, diplomatic and tourist relations,” the head of the diplomatic mission said.

“I hope that flights will also be organized to other major cities in India, such as Mumbai, Bangalore, and Goa,” the ambassador said.

The head of the diplomatic mission also noted: “Interest in Belarus-India and India-Belarus flights is on the rise. I see good prospects in this matter.”

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of India were established on 17 April 1992. The Embassy of India was opened in Minsk in May 1992. Belarus opened its embassy in New Delhi in June 1998.
