Ambassador: Friendship between Belarus and Iran will continue growing stronger

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich met with outgoing Iranian Ambassador to Belarus Mostafa Oweisi in Minsk on 4 November, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus' upper house of parliament.

The parties reviewed the development of the partnership between the two countries. “Ambassador Mostafa Oweisi expressed his confidence that the friendship between Belarus and Iran will continue growing stronger. In his opinion, the countries are well positioned to increase trade and implement new joint projects. Of interest are healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and technology,” the press service noted.

Mikhail Myasnikovich thanked the ambassador for services to the Belarusian-Iranian cooperation. During Mostafa Oweisi's time as ambassador, the two countries have built up inter-parliamentary and achieved good results. “Contacts between the friendship groups have helped to build trust and understanding between the two countries,” the head of the upper house of parliament said.

The cooperation between Belarus and Iran in education and science was also discussed during the talks. “We need to step up humanitarian cooperation which means educational programs, science and technology projects,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.
