
MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are interested in deepening bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship and reliable partnership, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus Erbol Sultanbaev said during a meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova on 19 June, BelTA has learned.
“We are happy to have the opportunity to discuss key issues of our bilateral cooperation today. It is with great pleasure that I convey warm greetings from your colleague. His recent visit to Minsk was truly significant and made a major contribution to strengthening political dialogue, inter-parliamentary interaction, and other areas of cooperation,” the ambassador said, addressing Natalya Kochanova. “We are counting on continued active inter-parliamentary contacts and are looking forward to welcoming the leadership and deputies of the Belarusian National Assembly to Kyrgyzstan for an official return visit. We are always happy to receive our dear Belarusian friends.”

According to him, strong and trust-based relations have been established between the two countries. “Nowadays, there is a very good and trust-based political dialogue between the leaders of our countries. This, certainly, serves as a solid foundation for our bilateral relations,” Ambassador Erbol Sultanbaev stressed. “Kyrgyzstan and Belarus have traditionally been reliable partners in foreign policy. We are interested in deepening and advancing our bilateral ties in a spirit of friendship and reliable partnership. We hold similar views on matters of historical memory and preservation of continuity of generations. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus and we held a series of events to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory. I would like to take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude for your respect for the memory of Kyrgyz soldiers.”

“Today, our countries are members of almost all regional associations in the post-Soviet space, within which inter-parliamentary structures operate. In this context, I would like to assure you that our parliamentarians consider it very important to continue work on harmonizing our national legislation and developing model laws,” the diplomat added.
