Ambassador: Belarus is a friendly country for Palestine

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) - Belarus is a friendly country for Palestine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Belarus Ahmed Almathbouh said during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko in Minsk on 30 November, BelTA has learned.

"In Belarus, I have all the opportunities to develop our relations not only politically, but also in other aspects of life," Ambassador Ahmed Almathbouh said. “You talked about medicine. This year, the number of students studying in Belarusian universities has grown. In terms of healthcare, we are also interested in cooperation. I have contacted your Healthcare Ministry, and there is interest in exchanging experience and cooperation between our ministries, medical institutions and doctors. We can help each other in this regard. We would also like to see Belarusian construction companies participating in the construction of facilities in our country.”

According to the ambassador, Belarus is a friendly country for Palestine. "We appreciate the good relations between our countries," he said.

"As for cooperation between parliaments, I would like to ask you to set up an inter-parliamentary commission and an appropriate friendship group between Palestine and Belarus. These groups and commissions can cooperate with each other and contribute to the development of relations," Ambassador Ahmed Almathbouh added. “As for cooperation between universities, there was a request for the exchange of experience, teachers, students. Belarusian medical universities are popular in our country, and every year the number of students who want to come and study here increases. Graduates are qualified doctors and specialists."

The parties are set to discuss the state and prospects for the Belarusian-Palestinian inter-parliamentary cooperation, other topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
