
MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) - Relations between Iran and Belarus are gaining momentum in all areas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei said during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko on 25 June, BelTA has learned.

He added that Belarus and Iran successfully held the 17th meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, during which the parties reached effective and constructive agreements.
“Given the free trade agreement signed between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran’s observer status in this union, excellent opportunities and vast potential are now opening up for economic cooperation between our countries. In addition, we are both members of the SCO. Belarus became a full member of this organization last July, so I believe we can fully tap into its enormous potential in both politics and economy,” Ambassador Alireza Sanei stressed.
