Aleinik off to Uganda for 19th NAM Summit

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik will take part in the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Uganda on 18-20 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
Sergei Aleinik will speak at the plenary session of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in his national capacity and on behalf of a group of European countries. The Belarusian foreign minister will also take part in a meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations.
 
Agreements were reached to hold a series of bilateral meetings with colleagues from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
 
According to the organizers, the key goal of the summit is bringing together leaders from around the world to address pressing global issues and foster cooperation among member nations. Representatives of about 120 states are expected to attend the forum.
