MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – The agreement between the governments of Belarus and China on the opening of a Belarusian consulate general in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Xianggang) entered into force on 29 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in the PRC.
The new consular district will cover two special administrative regions of China - Hong Kong (Xianggang) and Macao.
In addition to the embassy in Beijing, Belarus also runs consulates general in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China were established on 20 January 1992. The anniversary of the diplomatic relations will be marked in 2022.
