Agenda of upcoming CIS Heads of Government Council session revealed

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The next session of the Heads of Government Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on 24 May. There are 12 items on the draft agenda, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.

During a restricted-attendance session members of the council will traditionally exchange opinions about topical matters concerning economic interaction within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

As part of an expanded-participation session members of the council are expected to discuss drafts of the concept on cooperation in power engineering and the plan of top-priority measures to implement the concept, an action plan on optimizing the infrastructure and developing the international transport corridors that cross the territories of the CIS member states.

Apart from that, participants of the session are expected to pass a number of documents concerning cooperation in healthcare, chemical industry, management of hazardous waste, and the counteraction of wrongdoing in the field of intellectual property.

Another item on the agenda of the CIS Heads of Government Council session is to declare Ashgabat a city of new sport opportunities of the Commonwealth.
