Agenda of Dushanbe meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers finalized

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – The CIS plenipotentiaries finalized the agenda of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meeting to be held in Dushanbe on 8 April, BelTA has learned.

According to First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Leonid Anfimov, the foreign ministers of the CIS states are expected to meet face-to-face.

The event will traditionally be held in a narrow format and an extended format. “The narrow format meeting will discuss the international agenda, the time and place of the next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. The extended format meeting will discuss a 6-point agenda, including the implementation of the CIS Youth Capital international project, the establishment of a basic organization in the field of tourism in the CIS, selection of promising research projects in line with the priority areas of fundamental research of the Commonwealth states,” Leonid Anfimov said.

The meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will take stock of the efforts to fulfill the plan of multi-level ministerial consultations in 2021, the action program to invigorate partnerships between the foreign ministries and to amend the Regulations on the Bureau for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crimes on the Territory of the CIS.
