Agenda of CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting in Minsk revealed

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – The next meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Minsk on 12 April. The foreign ministers will exchange views on current issues of the international agenda and interaction in the CIS, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

During an extended meeting, members of the Foreign Ministers Council will consider instituting a common anniversary medal “80 years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.”

The participants will also discuss the draft convention on the legal status of delegations to CIS member states, the sports capitals of the CIS in 2025 and 2026, and the status of CIS basic organizations in the field of military security research, in the field of university sports and in the field of training, retraining and advanced training of judicial personnel.

The meeting will review progress to implement the plan of the CIS multi-level ministerial consultations and the action program to intensify partnerships between the foreign ministries of the CIS states in 2023.

In addition, there are plans to adopt statements on ensuring safe working conditions for journalists and preventing infringement of their rights, on the 30th anniversary of the CIS observer status at the UN General Assembly and on the terrorist attack committed near Moscow on 22 March 2024.
