On 19 February, ahead of the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History unveiled a new addition to its ‘Museum Rarities’ series: the ‘Red Guard and Red Partisan’ badge. The badge once belonged to Grigory Plaskov, a Minsk native, Red Guard soldier, and veteran of the Civil War, the Soviet-Finnish War, and the Great Patriotic War. Grigory Plaskov rose to the rank of lieutenant general in the artillery and devoted 44 years to military service.
