Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was elected chairman of the 7th Belarusian People's Congress. The results of the secret ballot were announced by Inna Medvedeva, Chairperson of the Counting Commission of the Belarusian People's Congress, Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee. The delegates also elected 13 members of the Presidium of the Belarusian People's Congress.
