The Holy Annunciation Monastery in Malye Lyady, Smolevichi District, Minsk Oblast, was founded as a Uniate monastery in the first half of the 18th century next to an old wooden church. Its establishment was preceded by a story about the healing of Teresa Zawisza, wife of Minsk Voivode Krzysztof Stanisław Zawisza, from an illness. Teresa Zawisza was from the Tyszkiewicz magnate family.
She made a pilgrimage to the Holy Dormition Zhirovichi Monastery, and afterward, as a gesture of gratitude, donated a copy of the miraculous Zhirovichi Icon to the local church.
Soon, the new icon became known as the Lyady Icon. Pilgrims began flocking to these places. The Zawisza family decided to build a new stone church and establish a monastery nearby. Today, the church and monastery in Malye Lyady remain a pilgrimage site, with around 20 novices residing at the monastery.
