On 28 October, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus gave a ceremonial start to the 17th Belarusian Antarctic Expedition. The expedition will feature fourteen experts and will be led by Aleksei Gaidashov by the seasoned polar explorer, a participant of all previous 16 expeditions.
