ISTANBUL, 4 February (BelTA - Anadolu) - Passenger car sales in Türkiye
dropped 12.6% year-on-year by 8,097 units in January, according to data
released by an industry group on Tuesday.
A total of 68,654 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold across the country last month, falling 13.9% at an annualized pace, the Automotive Distributors’ and Mobility Association (ODMD) data showed.
Light commercial vehicle sales also dropped by 18.8% to 12,710 units during the same period.
In January, hybrid cars accounted for 29.7% of total automobile sales or 16,642 units, enjoying an annual surge of 61.5%.
Electric car sales also increased 56.7% from a year ago to 6,225 units in January, making up 11.1% of total sales.
