DOHA, 22 August (BelTA - SANA) - The Syrian Bodybuilding Team raised its
medal tally to 24 at the West Asian Championship held in the Qatari
capital of Doha.
In details, the Syrian team won 15 gold medals and five silver on the second day of the championship as Miriam Hanoun won three gold medals in the over 84 kg weight category of the squat, pecs, and total, as well as a silver medal in the bench press.
Her citizen Mirganeh Haji won four gold medals in in the 63 kg junior women’s weight class.
Nahed Alloush also won four gold medals in the 84 kg weight class, both in the movements and the total, while Sahar Azzam gained four gold medals in the 52 kg weight class, both in the movements and total, in the Masters 1 category.
Meanwhile, Raghad Zeineddine won four silver medals in the 63 kg junior women’s weight class, both in the movements and total.
The Syrian team won 4 gold medals on Wednesday through player Yahya Silo in the men’s 66 kg Masters category.
