"From Monday (March 31) to Wednesday (April 2), 14,485 tourists have crossed from four piers to several tourist locations in the Seribu Islands," Head of the Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Office Sonti Pangaribuan informed here on Thursday.
She said that, 2,565 tourists flocked to the island on Monday, 4,627 on Tuesday, and 7,293 on Wednesday.
She noted that vacationing in the Seribu Islands remains an option for people during the extended Eid al-Fitr holiday and collective leave.
According to Pangaribuan, the number of tourist visits during the Eid holiday has increased compared to regular days, when five hundred to one thousand visits are typically recorded.
Tourists are entering the Seribu Islands through four entry points, namely Muara Angke Pier, Marina Ancol, Tanjung Pasir, and Cituis Pier, making the crossing on fast or traditional boats, she said.
The fare for traditional boats from Muara Angke Pier is around Rp50 thousand to Rp80 thousand. Tourists can also opt for boats operated by the Jakarta Transportation Office, whose fares range from Rp44 thousand to Rp74 thousand.
Meanwhile, the fares for taking fast boats via Marina Ancol Pier range from Rp175 thousand to Rp300 thousand. They offer a shorter travel time compared to traditional boats.
Pangaribuan said that tourists are vacationing in inhabited islands, cultural reserves, and resorts.
The Seribu Islands offer attractive options for tourists, ranging from beaches, underwater life, flora and fauna, cuisine, and other beautiful scenery.
"Inhabited islands remain a favorite location for tourists. To increase tourist visits, we will continue to expand the promotion of destinations in the Seribu Islands," Pangaribuan explained.
