TEHRAN, 8 December (BelTA - IRNA) - The United World Wrestling announced
that five Iranians have been nominated for the Best Wrestler of 2025.
The UWW announced the nominees for the 2025 Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers, with Iran's freestyle and Greco-Roman national team members having a notable presence on this list.
Iranian national Greco-Roman wrestling team, with three representatives, and the national freestyle wrestling team, with 2 representatives, along with the United States, have secured the highest number of nominees.
In freestyle wrestling, Rahman Amouzad (65 kg) and Amir-Hossein Zare (125 kg) are Iran’s representatives who will compete with Zaur Uguev from Russia, Zahid Valencia from US, and Kyle Snyder from US.
In Greco-Roman wrestling, Saeid Esmaeili (67 kg), Gholamreza Farkhani (82 kg), and Mohammad-Hadi Saravi (97 kg) are among the final nominees and will compete with Malkhas Amoyan from Armenia and Aytjan Khalmakhanov from Kazakhstan.
