Dali 120th Anniversary World Tour kicks off Beijing exhibition

BEIJING, 21 August (BelTA - China Daily) - The Dali 120th Anniversary World Tour China Beijing Station kicked off at China World Mall on Friday to commemorate one of the most influential surrealist artist of the 20th century.

Salvador Dali was a Spanish surrealist artist renowned for his technical skill, precise draftsmanship, and the striking and bizarre images in his work. His creativity in Tianma Starry Sky blends his unique interpretation of the world into sculpture, installation, jewelry art, and even images, forming Dali's artistic philosophy.

The exhibition in Beijing features a total of 142 exhibits, including 23 sculptures, 95 Illustration book prints, 6 installation art pieces, 9 jewelry artworks, and 9 fashion artworks created by globally designers to pay tribute to Dali. The total value of the exhibits exceeded 100 million yuan.

With visual and audio background, the audience can enjoy a dreamlike world. Dali's classic artistic images such as "Eternal Memory" and "Space Elephant" are presented in the form of sculptures, intertwined with Dali's most common image symbols such as melting clocks, canes, snails, angels, butterflies, etc., forming a wonderful artistic maze.

This exhibition also brought other surprises to the audience. The huge first generation Dali clock city level sculpture "Dance of Time I" made its debut in China, and the sculpture "Horse Saddled with Time" with Dali's fingerprints, which also came to China for the first time, complemented landmark buildings such as the CCTV headquarters building and the China Tower, creating a new check-in destination for Guomao.

The copyright owner of this exhibition is Dali Universe, whose founder Beniamino Levi has known Dali since the 1960s and has been encouraging him to create sculptures based on his classic artistic images.

They jointly developed the Dali Bronze Sculpture Art Series, which serves as valuable academic materials for studying Dali. In the past 30 years, the Dali Universe has held exhibitions in more than 100 museums and venues worldwide, attracting more than 12 million visitors. The exhibition in Beijing is expected to provide an opportunity for domestic art enthusiasts and scholars to experience the charm of Dali's art up close.

As the global debut station, Beijing has created an immersive exhibition experience for the audience. The exhibition is themed with "Dreams", where visitors can experience introspection and emotional exploration through the creative thinking of art masters by appreciating Dali's art works collected from the Dali Universe.

The rich exhibition forms such as multi sensory exhibitions, scene design, large-scale projections, holograms, suggestive music, and captivating voiceovers provide ample conditions for better presenting Dali's sculpture works.

The audience can stroll through a maze like exhibition route where inner spirit and artistic expression intersect, as if breaking through the boundaries of time and space, entering a dreamlike realm. In the exhibition hall where elements of reality and dreams intertwine, they can experience the intimate contact between art and senses, as well as the wonderful transformation of reality into surrealism.

The exhibition coincides with the 40th anniversary celebration of China World Mall, and both parties are working together to create the Dali Art Season. In the next two months, the Dali 120th Anniversary World Tour China Beijing Station will launch a series of art activities at China World Mall, including Dali themed coloring, daydreaming time travel, night tours of art museums, etc.
