Total solar eclipse over Antarctica

A total solar eclipse took place over Antarctica on 4 December. It lasted less than two minutes, according to Space.com.

Solar eclipses in the southern hemisphere, especially over Antarctica, are very rare. The last such eclipse occurred on 23 January 2003, and the next one will not take place until 2039.
