ILAM, 18 November (BelTA – IRNA) - The saffron harvest season is in progress in various regions of Iran, including Ilam. Farmers are out in the fields to harvest one of the most expensive spices in the world. One kilogram of dried saffron costs approximately $2,000 and takes an average of 200,000 flowers to produce it.
