An emergency training exercise is underway in the Sovetsky District of Minsk on 24-26 May to drill the emergency workers' response to natural and man-made disasters.
The exercise will let the agencies practise their response to accidents at chemically hazardous facilities, road accidents involving heavy vehicles, pollution of water bodies, and area flooding. The exercise will also drill rescue efforts on water, fire extinguishing in forest areas featuring the Emergencies Ministry aviation, medical assistance to victims in emergencies, temporary resettlement of people from emergency zones, rescue and other urgent work in case of explosions in buildings and structures.
